The Civil Concordance
The Civil Concordance of Aligned Systems (CCAS, aka “The Concordance”) is a federation of species who have come together under mutual aid, defense, and trade.
“To have peace, there must be order. To have order, there must be rules. To have rules, there must be Concordance.”
The Civil Concordance of Aligned Systems (CCAS) - commonly "The Concordance," is a federation of allied worlds devoted to reciprocal trade and defense. The Concordance is one of the major powers of the galaxy, a direct counter to a multitude of existential threats.
Founded and controlled by the AI entity the Ultra Magi, the Concordance works to protect its member states and ensure mutual prosperity. While individual societies maintain their own sovereign status and customs, they operate as part of a representative federation, sending those determined to be the most capable within their disciplines to act as legislators and advisors. However, the Magi acts as head-of-state and final authority, a seemingly benevolent dictator guided by a deluge of processed information.
The Thrakians and Kraeth are the two most prominent member states, having been the first to join under the Magi’s guidance. Others have followed, while a number of territories exist in provisional status, striving to integrate themselves into the whole. Still others exist as protectorates: autonomous non-members who have come under the Concordance’s protection for one reason or another. This is especially true of the worlds in the adjacent Old Codridactics, many of which were ravaged during the years of civil war that gripped the region.
The Department of Allied Militaries (DAM) is the armed division of the Concordance, supported by member states with soldiers, equipment, and funding. The DAM provides defense for all parts of the Concordance, combating piracy, organized crime, and attacks from non-aligned worlds. Easily the most fearsome army in Galactic Center, the DAM fields a first-rate fleet, abundant ground forces, elite special forces teams, and even scientific technical groups (so-called “Sci-Teams”), equipped to handle the most dangerous oddities and unknowns.
