Eovis

Eovis is the Drin throne world, the seat of their monarchy. Prior to their colonization, Eovis was a jungle world, warm enough that even the poles were a temperate rainforest. Overcrowding and heavy industry has caused most of the plant life to die off, the only true old-growth forest left contained within the Royal family's preserve - and even taht is primarily used for sport hunting, and as a buffer for their palace fortress. The jungles were home to huge game, grown extra large thanks to the super oxygenated atmosphere. Most of these species are gone now, although some megafauna continues to roam the preserve. The harsh environment of Eovis has led to the evolution of a number of smaller, but still dangerous creatures, including the slug-like Skirax, best known for its caustic ooze. The Drin keep them as pets. The rest of the planet has been reduced to desert cities and sprawling industrial zones. Dust storms ravage the hinterlands, while the cities are choked with dust and industrial pollution. The capital city of Roznicrest is a particularly hellish industrial port. At its center is The Heap, the Royal prison/factory, built atop a fissure in the planet's crust. Scrap metal and electronics are dumped within the prison walls, sorted by slave labor and reworked into various goods. The molten crack at the base of the prison serves as the furnace for the metal works, while the walls of the prison - mounted on enormous track treads - move in and push the remaining debris into the inferno.
