Dispatches from the DTGVerse
Volume 2, Issue 6, June 2023
Space. The not-quite final frontier. That’s because this month, we’re proud to present a new frontier: the Frontier Series of armor kits from DTG Figures! Featuring a multitude of new armor pieces and Master Grade helms, this is a huge, boundary-pushing update for us.
But that’s not all: there’s an army’s worth of new weapon designs, and a diabolical Patreon-exclusive exotic helmet. Read on for the details!

The Frontier Series represents a step forward in our armor development. Featuring a mix of totally new designs as well as sculpts inspired by popular existing kits - such as the Spectre and Doppelganger - the Frontier Series offers the opportunity to mix-and-match and stack gear for a totally kitted out trooper. We got bits, we got bits that go on other bits, and more bits to go with those bits.
There is now a way to sort by category at the top of the armor page! No more sifting through to find those knee pads or wrist armors! In addition, we’ve added a tab called VSI Core. The VSI Core tab includes all chests that are compatible with each other. Meaning you can mix and match the front and back of all of them and they’ll snap together!
The new helms take our Master Grade designs to the next level - for helms with deeply-inset visors, we’ve refined our visor system to allow for a better painting experience. These helms feature internal inserts - separate pieces that go inside the helmet - to provide ease of access for painting with a seamless finished look. You can see this design in action with the Frontier Marauder helm, newly released on our website.
With these new and improved kits coming online, we’re sending a few older designs off to retirement. Get pieces from the Doppelganger and Razorback series before they disappear over the horizon forever!
For ease of finding our retired items, we’ve added a new page! The Discontinued Sale Page! Everything on the page has been retired, meaning it’s marked down and available in limited quantity.

The armory is also expanding this month, bringing with it a plethora of weapon designs, including a new complementary series to the popular North Star pistols. We’ve highlighted some key pieces below, but you can see the whole release - totaling 17 new weapons - by viewing the update at the DTG website.
Buronson Jump’s new series of bullpup rifles makes use of the form factor to increase range and accuracy while shortening the overall weapon.
The Vindicator was developed with ship operations in mind. Compact, and using variable-output chem laser charges as ammo - best for avoiding accidental depressurization incidents.
The Pathfinder utilizes standard ammo, but couples it with a distinctive blue-hued ion field, capable of disrupting energy shields and defeating reactive armor.

While we’ve previously had Patreon armor pieces available as bonus options before, we’ve never had one featured as the main exotic… until now. This month, we’re launching the fan-named ‘Traumatizer’ helm, exclusive to this month’s Patreon subscribers (just $12 a month!). And stay tuned for next month’s exotic - what would a helm be without some armor to match?
What in the Pit is a ‘Traumatizer?’ Read on!
The corpos have made commoditization an art form: got a neural uplink? Sign up for a subscription. Need a medevac? Hope your insurance is up-to-date. Want to hop a shuttle? Better pay the toll. Ammo? Power? Food? Light? Sleep? Air? Get your payment block ready.
The Gra'ul have gone from artists to savants.
For a price they’ll let you stay put and go about your business. For a little more they’ll keep you safe from outsiders. Don’t want to pay? Don’t worry, they’ll send someone to help you see how reasonable their request is. After all, this is a business arrangement, right?
But maybe you don't want to part with your hard-earned cash. Maybe you don't think protection rackets are morally right. Maybe you think law enforcement will come to your aid. These Gra'ul thugs, with their flashy comms and shiny suits, expensive fragrances and endless appetites… how tough can those guys really be? Maybe you just shouldn't pay…
Well. Then the Gra'ul will send a specialist. They’ll send a Traumatizer.
You see, the corpos found one more thing they could turn into a product: Targeted violence. On the books, a “customer” that’s delinquent in paying up their protection money is just another line item that needs to be balanced, a debt that needs collecting. Normally a simple shakedown is enough to get the cash flowing again; but stubborn folks, those who think they can stand up to a corpo… they get special treatment.
When it’s clear to the money-counters that they aren’t going to get their payment, the Traumatizer is sent in. The Traumatizer's business? Smash, burn, and destroy. The Gra'ul see it as job creation; these violent psychopaths would otherwise be brutalizing random innocents. Instead, they get to earn a living and satiate their disgusting tendencies, all from behind the safety of their haunting, skeletal masks - a mockery of the famous S.C.A.B. helms worn by medevac teams. It’s a win-win for employer and employee - just not for the victims.

Next month (and maybe a little further out…):
Armor kits aren’t the only thing we’ve been retooling. Keep an eye out for updates of the Build-a-Bot kits, helmets with clear visors, the long-awaited female blank body, and… well, that would be telling, wouldn’t it?
